How to Choose a Corporate Name

When choosing a corporate name, make it short and punchy. Ideally, a corporate name should be less than 20 characters:

    • Make it one or two words plus the legal ending
    • Inc. and Corp. are the most common legal endings
    • There’s no legal difference between Inc., Corp., Ltd., Incorporated, Corporation, and Limited
    • Professional Corporation is for regulated professionals
    • Make sure that you can get a .ca domain name that matches your proposed corporate name without the legal ending
